 INTERNET SAFETY AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

To educate both children and parents about safe use of Internet, Micronet Broadband Group (owner and operator of Micronet Broadband Pvt. Ltd. and Nayatel Pvt. Ltd.), in cooperation with The City School, and Beacon House School Systems, run an Internet safety awareness campaign at selected school campuses in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
The activity was aimed to educate and communicate Internet safety guidelines to the children, with involvement of their teachers in classroom environment. The methodology was used to persuade children to adopt the guidelines as part of their academic learning.
Today’s children are living in an information age. Quite contrary to their parents’ generation, children are now more exposed to the ways and means to get Internet access, either at school labs or at home. Many parents may feel that they are being left behind and are unable to understand the use and suitability of Internet for their children. It is therefore equally important for parents to get themselves align with children’s Internet requirements and to provide guidance to them, as with other areas of their children’s lives.
To make the message appealing and attractive, Micronet Broadband distributed color pencil boxes, along with well-conceived educational material to the children. The information brochures were aimed at educating children about safe Internet usage, and children friendly resources on Internet. The activity was also intended to communicate the necessary precaution and guidelines to parents to get conformed to latest trends to guide their children appropriately.
Micronet Broadband also visited special children at Chambeli Institute for Handicapped Children, Rawalpindi, to cherish moments of joy with them.
